Jess Munro
Co-Founder + Partner
Jess Munro believes the tools of design are equally powerful in grokking big systems challenges and helping individuals and teams discover the purpose that fuels their work.
Jess has nearly two decades of experience leading innovation work for Fortune 500 companies and startups alike, and equipping leaders through workshops, immersive learning, keynotes and ongoing coaching. She ignites new behaviors in individuals and teams, helping establish creative cultures within organizations and sustain new mindsets over time.
During her years at IDEO, Jess led global innovation work ranging from envisioning 10-year product strategy to guiding organizational transformation over time.
Jess teaches at Stanford University, with courses such as Design for Influence and Human Values in Design, co-taught with David Kelley. With Stanford’s design school (the “d.school”), she recently cast new futures for higher education in 2025 and beyond.
Jess loves to build with her hands and can be frequently found holding a power drill in the backyard with her three creative kiddos.
SARAH LIN
Partner
Sarah Lin believes that design thinking can bring systemic change to hard problems. Over the course of 20+ years as a creative director, she has strategized branding and marketing initiatives for a breadth of clients ranging from Fortune 500s, high-growth start-ups, and non-profits.
After working in the corporate world for 10 years, she co-founded a social enterprise empowering marginalized women in India. Innovating from seed to end consumer, she built a fair-trade lifestyle brand by utilizing crowd-funding, renegade social media marketing while designing consumer-driven products. This resulted in 250 stores globally that carried their products, including Nordstrom, Restoration Hardware, and Anthropologie.
Whether it is positioning a product in the marketplace, building a new brand, or reimagining a new solution to a systemic problem, she takes a human-centered design approach to make sure that results are delivered. She was selected by LVMH Results in Entrepreneurship as a rising entrepreneur and her products were featured in Martha Stewart Living and various publications.
In her spare time, she loves to pretend to surf with her husband, throw ceramic pots, watercolor, and name her collection of plants after literary characters.
Steph patterson

Steph Patterson believes words can change the world.
Her storytelling expertise has helped startups get funded, thought leaders launch a public speaking career, and small teams in large organizations spark meaningful change. She spent six years at Duarte, Inc., Silicon Valley’s premiere presentation design firm before launching her solo career as a communication strategist.
On the weekends you might find her getting crafty with a DIY home renovation project, enjoying the great outdoors, or staying up past midnight reading a captivating memoir.

Teryn Rikert believes the answer is in the room. She is intent on designing experiences that spark moments of discovery and harness collective insight.
Teryn's strategy expertise, with a background in management consulting, has helped executives uncover new business models, teams to translate mission and vision to execution and leaders to transform culture. Whether redesigning the built environment to support employee behavior at a startup, leading an executive team to envision the future or creating an Innovation ecosystem for a Fortune 500, Teryn is constantly connecting the dots between business outcomes, human needs and systems.
When not thinking the big picture, Teryn loves appreciating the small details as she explores the world near and far through food, language, nature and intriguing local events.
